Hours, exceptions & the fine print

The leash rule is section 4-97 of the Tucson Code: a leash no longer than six feet, strong enough to control the dog, on any public street, sidewalk, alley, park or other public property. Its exceptions are written into the same section - police dogs, training classes, kennel club events, approved races, and dogs in a city-maintained dog run in a park. The city’s posted dog-park rules add: a collar with a valid license, vaccinations up to date, the owner stays inside and keeps voice control, aggressive or ill dogs and females in season stay out, no puppies under four months, and you clean up - that last one is the code too, section 4-102.
