Hours, exceptions & the fine print

San Antonio’s licensing system is a registered microchip, not a yearly tag - the chip must be in before four months of age, registered with a chip company, and the dog wears a tag with the chip number or your phone number outdoors. Roaming dogs can be spayed or neutered by Animal Care Services before they are returned, and repeat Chapter 5 violations now carry minimum fines up to $750.
